Enter the Flogging Sweepstakes!
Don't know which end of a flogger to hold? Been flogging for years? Believe it or not, either way you could benefit from this month's contest, in which you can win a copy of Flogging, Joseph Bean's in-depth look at this fine art. This book, approximately a $12 retail value, reveals the basics as well as the fine points of flogging, and does so in a way that makes it an enjoyable "read."
"A comprehensive work from a highly experienced master of the art - clear, balanced and hot." -- Jay Wiseman (a man who generously includes me on the list of people he considers "clueful" -- James)
Instead of taking a dry and clinical breakdown of the activity, Joseph creates a rich conversational style, weaving in many layers of technique into the discussion of each of the four scenes he describes. This creates a book that's a pleasure to refer back to as the reader's experience expands... If you're a novice, it'll set you on the right track. If you're a slightly experienced player, it'll help finesse your technique and better understand the emotional components on both sides of the whip, and if you're an experienced player it'll give you insight into the art of flogging from one of the masters of this particular expression of pleasure." -- Fetish Diva Midori
Joseph Bean has been a leathersex author, publisher, educator and community activist for more than 20 years. His material in the past has always been well-researched, written from years of experience and understandably written. "Flogging" is no exception. I would highly recommend this title to anyone, from total novice to the experienced player, who would like to know the proper, safe, sane, and consentual ways to flog and be flogged. The "Master" has struck again! (and in just the right spot!) -- Chris Matthews from San Francisco, CA
The Flogging Sweepstakes, sponsored by James LiGate, is easy to enter. Simply chat in Abbot's Place or The Dungeon as you normally would. Each day during the month, the top chatter as declared by Abbot's chat room statistics for Abbot's Place and The Dungeon will each receive one credit. (If the same person tops both charts, the credits will instead be given to the two people in the highest position containing two different chatters.) At the end of the month, the chatter with the most credits will be declared the winner. (In the event of a tie, multiple awards will be presented.)
Since Abbot's chat statistics span a full 28 days, what happened in the previous month will have a bearing on the contest statistics. (For example, on the 14th, the top chatter will be based on the first 14 days of the current month along with the last 14 days of the prior month.) So, it's important you get involved now if you plan to win.
Strategy also matters! If you're regularly one of the top chatters in Abbot's Place, you'll naturally want to maintain your lead there. But if you feel you have no chance of taking the top spot, concentrate on scening in The Dungeon where the traffic is low and the statistics are practically a blank page waiting for your nickname.
Remember, each line you type potentially counts towards your victory. The more time you spend chatting, the better your chances. However, please note that the chat logs will be reviewed. Flooding, an excessive number of short lines inconsistent with your usual chatting style, extended use of "pop-ups" or pasted material, or other similar actions will be considered abuse and will result in your disqualification.

Entrants understand that the contest winner will be judged based solely on the chat room statistics as generated by Abbot, regardless of any incompleteness or errors in those statistics.
