Enter the Tricks Sweepstakes!
Due to technical problems with the site and an inability to update contest information, we are rerunning last month's contest. For September, we're giving away a copy of Jay Wiseman's Tricks: More Than 125 Ways to Make Good Sex Better! This slim, 121 page book -- approximately a $12 value -- is packed with ideas, tips, and information. Since it touches on bondage and other aspects of BDSM ("Order your partner to stand with their hands behind their head, fingers laced together, and legs spread somewhat apart. Now, go to work on them..."), this could be an excellent "first taste" for swaying a vanilla partner.
While sometimes slammed for its small size ("Considering that Wiseman wrote a sequel, it doesn't seem like too much to ask that he just combine the two books into one, which still wouldn't even make it very long. I mean, if you are going to ask $11.95 list price, you ought to give a books worth of information"), since our winner won't be paying one red cent, this book remains an excellent potential addition to your library.
From the very obvious to the extremely strange, this easy-to-read guide has a wealth of FUN ideas. You'll find tricks such as "Tap Dancing", and "Climbing the Mountain", and information regarding "rough" play and the associated risks. -- JT Toys
Tricks contains 125 little tips to help you surprise your partner with an occasional, inventive "gotcha." The book also contains supplemental material on safety, preparation, mental attitude and alternate resources. Although some of the techniques will be obvious, depending on your level of experience, there will be at least one that you haven't thought of before or didn't realize turned your partner on. -- SH in Arlington
Not only does this book have numerous good ideas, but reading it inspires you to be more imaginative in bed in general. The writing is clear and to the point, with the right amount of details and good descriptions. -- Adam Griffith, Bothell, Washington
The Tricks Sweepstakes, sponsored by James LiGate, is easy to enter. Simply chat in Abbot's Place or The Dungeon as you normally would. Each day during the month, the top chatter as declared by Abbot's chat room statistics for Abbot's Place and The Dungeon will each receive one credit. (If the same person tops both charts, the credits will instead be given to the two people in the highest position containing two different chatters.) At the end of the month, the chatter with the most credits will be declared the winner. (In the event of a tie, multiple awards will be presented.)
Since Abbot's chat statistics span a full 28 days, what happened in the previous month will have a bearing on the contest statistics. (For example, on the 14th, the top chatter will be based on the first 14 days of the current month along with the last 14 days of the prior month.) So, it's important you get involved now if you plan to win.
Strategy also matters! If you're regularly one of the top chatters in Abbot's Place, you'll naturally want to maintain your lead there. But if you feel you have no chance of taking the top spot, concentrate on scening in The Dungeon where the traffic is low and the statistics are practically a blank page waiting for your nickname.
Remember, each line you type potentially counts towards your victory. The more time you spend chatting, the better your chances. However, please note that the chat logs will be reviewed. Flooding, an excessive number of short lines inconsistent with your usual chatting style, extended use of "pop-ups" or pasted material, or other similar actions will be considered abuse and will result in your disqualification.

All contest entrants acknowledge that problems with ISPs, telephone lines, computers, networks, and the like are a fact of "Internet life." Entrants agree that their standings and chances of winning may be uncontrollably and unpredictably affected by circumstances such as downed servers, problems with Abbot, or other difficulties. Entrants understand that the contest winner will be judged based solely on the chat room statistics as generated by Abbot, regardless of any incompleteness or errors in those statistics.
This contest requires a minimum level of participation. If at least one of the rooms (Abbot's Place or The Dungeon) does not average 100 lines typed per day or better, this contest will be forfeited and the prize offer shall be considered null and void.
